Daniela Sanchez

Daniela graduated with a degree in IT Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. She dedicated five years to IT services management and process optimization, applying best practices to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering Management at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Since joining the team as a Graduate Research Assistant in August 2023, she has been actively involved in research projects focusing on AI-driven process monitoring and industrial automation.

Daniela's research focuses on developing AI-driven video analytics for process monitoring and optimization in manual assembly lines. By using deep learning algorithms, her research enables automated work studies and cycle time analysis. By identifying inefficiencies and motion waste, her system aligns with lean manufacturing principles, providing real-time insights to enhance productivity. The methodology involves process mapping, data collection, model training, and action recognition, ultimately aiming to improve operational efficiency and support continuous improvement in manufacturing environments.
