Geetha Charan
Geetha Charan Duba completed his undergraduate degree at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur and earned his master's from the University of Alberta, Edmonton. He joined as a Graduate Research Assistant in November 2024.
Research Summary
Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Machine Vision Cameras, Signal Processing, Sensor Fusion
Charan's research focuses on integrating machine vision cameras with the WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) system to acquire synchronized data, including voltage, current, and images. By implementing image processing techniques such as thresholding and quantification metrics, he aims to enhance real-time monitoring of the manufacturing process. Additionally, he is exploring AI and machine learning-based approaches for analyzing 3D point cloud data, utilizing techniques such as segmentation and RANSAC to assess point displacement variations in bimetallic dog bone structures. His work aims to improve data acquisition precision and enhance process control in advanced manufacturing systems.
